land/ing
land/ing is a vessel to tenderly embrace the healing voyage of nurturing relationships with the land and more-than-human world. Through the ideas and creative works shared from my particular reality as a white settler in Alberta, Canada, I endeavour to relationally live into my responsibility for healing. Contending with my shallow, settler-colonial roots, while simultaneously tending to my own physical, mental, and spiritual healing, I am growing a deeper relationship with the land on which I stand, and have sown the deep belief that healing our communities, the land, and myself are sacred, necessary, and interconnected journeys.
I humbly embrace this voyage with hopeful curiousity. I am not an expert, but carry with me the expertise of my own life, body, mind, heart, and spirit, alongside diverse experiences in community, environment and conservation, consulting, non-profit, food systems, and oil and gas. I also hold the privilege of higher education, leadership coaching, and learning through informal community programs and spaces. This includes my Bachelor of Arts in Environment and Urban Sustainability and minor in politics from Toronto Metropolitan University, as well as my current pursuit of a Master of Arts in Community Development with the University of Victoria. Collectively, these adventures, along with all my other lived experience, have gifted me knowledge, language, imagination, critical thought, and big, wild questions.
So welcome. Welcome to the messy and magical journey of land/ing into regenerative, just, and nourishing relationships with the land, onself, and all the communities-both human and more-than-human-that we share our home with.
